Captains/Senior Waiters/Waiters/Waitress/Service Receptionist/Assistant Waiters
As Assistant Waiter/Waitress, you are responsible for conducting mese-en-place, bussing out of soiled items and setting up the table on time in the most efficient manner and; assisting the waiter/waitress in serving guests.
1. Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1.1 Attend the briefing at the start of shift to receive important information for the day’s operation.
1.2 Prepare mise-en-place of cutlery and crockery for the Restaurant and arrange them accordingly to the pre-determined standards.
1.3 Prepare the tables, sets them up by observing proper standard and cleanliness of the equipment.
1.4 Acquire a thorough knowledge of the food and beverage menu in the Restaurant to be able to respond appropriately to guests.
1.5 Follow strictly the standard procedures when bussing out soiled crockery from the table and place them in them properly in the wash area.
1.6 Sets up the dining table as soon as it is vacated by guests.
1.7 Assist the waiter/waitress in serving guests using the standard service sequence of the restaurant in the most prompt and gracious manner.
1.8 Maximise sales by conducting suggestive selling and upselling to guests.
1.9 Take dirty linens to the linen area and replace them with clean ones, ensuring that these are free of damage and stain.
1.10 Ensure proper handling of equipment to prevent loss, breakage or damage.
1.11 Check the side stations and stack it up with plates, cutlery and glasses in a proper manner.
1.12 Handle guest complaints in the most professional manner or refer the concern to your immediate superior.
1.13 Maintain standards of cleanliness by carrying out front and back of house cleaning duties.
1.14 Observe strictly proper Restaurant opening & closing under the supervision of the captain.
1.15 Work and cooperate with the Restaurant and kitchen.
1.16 Know the facilities of the workplace, its daily events & functions and social events around
Doha, in order to provide correct information and address guest queries.
2. General Responsibilities:
2.1 Contribute in creating a high morale and team spirit by maintaining an effective relationships with all the associates in the Company.
2.3 Be polite and professional in any situation where the image of the Restaurant represented.
2.4 Follow strictly the working hours according to the duty roster issued by the Restaurant Manager.
2.5 Report any electrical or housekeeping defect in order to maintain the Restaurant in top physical condition.
2.6 Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and food hygiene and safety.
2.7 Know the safety, fire and emergency procedures.
3. Occasional Responsibilities:
3.1 Participate in any training/development scheme as recommended by senior management.
3.2 Perform other related tasks, as may be assigned to you by your superior from time to time.
4. Legal Responsibilities:
4.1 Ensure that the standards required by Law and by Management are maintained at all times in the areas specified above.
