Head of Performance Management – United Development Company
Reporting to Manager – Performance Management & Compensation
Formulates and implements effective approaches and plans for training and skills development and performance management activities to support UDC’s development objectives and to enable the establishment of a learning culture and a productive work environment.
Provide overall guidance to training and development activities throughout the company with responsibility for diagnosing organization needs, recommending the appropriate mix and emphasis of activities to improve organization effectiveness, and implementing agreed-on plans.
Manages the development of National staff and In-Post Trainees and qualify them towards their target positions.
Negotiates and establishes with key policy-makers the role of education, training and development in the Company’s.
Works closely with senior management to develop, design and implement high level strategic initiatives with impact on the Company’s climate, talent management and performance, such as the Leadership at All Levels process, Senior Management and Teambuilding, Change Management, Organizational Development.
Provides independent advice on career development to National & expatriate employees operating in business functions. Facilitates the creation of career development plans for high potential employees. Develops and maintains procedure and policy for career development within the Company.
Provides managers with coaching / training in conducting effective career discussions with employees. Designs and conducts formal training sessions for line managers developing /managing employee careers.
Leads the Company’s overall employee performance management process. Includes providing support and guidance on the performance management process to managers /supervisors. Responsible for designing and leading performance management training sessions and acting as the performance appraisal Administrator. Meets with employees to resolve queries about appraisal evaluations.
Determines how workplace learning and performance management can best be leveraged to achieve long-term business success and add value to meet organizational needs and provides guidance and advice to department managers on all issues relating to expatriate employee learning and development.
Identifies opportunities for improvement and sets well-defined goals related to learning and performance solutions, orchestrating efforts and measuring progress.
Develops action plans, obtains resources, and completes assignments to ensure that workplace learning and performance goals are achieved.
Conducts career counseling sessions, facilitates setting career goals; provides individual and group counseling sessions to enhance career skills and employability potential. Designs and runs career development workshops for employees in technical areas. Develops and maintains literature providing guidelines on career development program including manager’s handbook and employee career development manual.
Plans, coordinates and supervises the provision of in-house and external training services to meet Company’s training and development requirements. Includes directing the preparation of the annual training plan to cover Company’s needs for common core training for production and maintenance operations and specialized selective training for professional and supervisory staff both locally and abroad. Reviews training requirements with department heads concerned and processes for Management approval.
Establishes, develops and evaluates current training and development policies and procedures and develops long term plans for training and development to satisfy future Company’s manpower requirements.
Plans and supervises the activities of assigned personnel in the Training & Performance Management Division.
Performs supervisory duties at the level established by management for the position. Ensures that the Division is adequately resourced with information, staff and materials to establish, plan and deliver defined requirements professionally.
Pursues an active and effective training program for its Qatari employees and expatriate is expected to participate fully in this effort.
Proposes and implements approved Performance Management Process and ensures its compliance with policies and procedures.
Prepares and implement career development plans for Qatari nationals/trainees in order to prepare them for a suitable position within UDC and subsidiaries.
Carries out and perform other related duties as specified and when required and assigned by the line Manager to improve or enhance the efficiency of department work and performance.
